Duqum City Master Plan

CONSER carried out the supervision of reinstatement works & upgrading of the Wadi Heibi road extending from Al Bouwardeh Roundabout to Sohar Interchange after the damages cause by Shaheen Cyclone. The reinstatement works included damaged shoulders and side ditches , scoured rip rap at embankment slope, unpaved shoulders, gabion boxes along with reinstatement of Irish Crossings, works also covered Re-asphalting of eroded asphalt surfaces. Reinstating the damages at the existing main road and construction of realignments as well as reinstatement of the Road Safety items including Guardrails, Road Marking, Road Signs ,Road Studs.

Major Upgrade Works covered increasing the radius of the existing road curve to suit a speed of 60 km/hr, realignment and construction of new asphalt road outside Al Shubaybat village for a speed of 80km/hr criteria, Construction of a Roundabout at the intersection between this new road and the existing internal asphalt road in addition to the construction of two T-Junctions to allow for entry to and exist from the village. Concrete structures were built at Wadi Crossings to allow for water flow including two Major Box culverts at the connection with the existing road at the end of this realignment in addition to provision of duct works for Electrical, Water and Telephone every 500m (100mm,200mm & 400mm dia) for re-alignment in addition to the construction of new asphalt road outside Al GHADIFA village.

CONSER collaborated with Garsdale Design Limited for development of the Duqum City Master Plan carried out all infrastructure design works including utilities for all trades, as well as supervision of construction works. The work consisted of contextual studies for the new town and then the appropriate urban design framework. We undertook demographic studies and population forecasting, as well as appraisals of existing conditions, constraints and opportunities and visual and landscape analysis. These helped inform the study of planning alternatives and the selection of the preferred option.

Our work was guided by a detailed ‘Vision’ statement which set out what the town would be like in 20 years’ time that would resemble a new perspective for the region. We prepared detailed site plans for the first phase of priority development including land allocation documentation and set out the various plots on site.

We used GIS techniques to analyse the site and its surroundings and to provide a base for 3-D visualizations of our proposals. The resulting GIS model will provide the foundation for guiding development of the town and for land allocations in the future.

The Bausher-Amerat Road in Oman is a spectacular, steep dual carriageway that cuts directly through the Al Hajar Mountains, connecting the wilayats of Bausher and Al Amerat. Known for its dramatic zigzag formation, the design of the road routes was aligned with the sharp hairpin bends, and steep gradients, featureing extensive civil engineering works. CONSER OMAN supervised the Dualization of Bausher Amerat road including the two lane dual carriageway between AlAmerat and Bausher. The total length of the project works was 14km approximately. Including two post tensioned Wadi Bridges of 60m & 360m spans respectively along with a bridge and an underpass in addition to 26 box culverts of various sizes.

Afri Hilly Road

CONSER OMAN carried out the design review and supervision works of the bridges and culverts of the Significant Bawasher Ameirat road including the major bridge over Wadi Hatat consisting of 12 spans of 30 m each, located near the end of the road alignment, as well as the 2 spans bridge of 30 m each, constructed to facilitate safe crossing over a secondary wadi. In addition to several reinforced concrete box culverts at minor wadi crossings to ensure adequate drainage and floodwater conveyance.

Khasab Master Plan & Infrastructural Designs

CONSER designed the Master plan of the Khasab Family Resort for Majan Gulf Properties, The Project Consisted of a residential area, leisure spaces, hotels, hospitality and recreational areas in the attractive tree lines mountain area. CONSER designed all infrastructural works of roads & utilities in addition to the residential, commercial, hospitality buildings & landscaping works

CONSER OMAN carried out the designs & supervision works of Nafun Bridge over the Nafun Wadi. The bridge consisted of 3 spans, two piers of two columns each allowing for two lane one single carriageway over the Nafun wadi. CONSER works included streetlighting, new jersey barriers, marking & signage.
